SO3 Testing - SCR Tuning - AH Modeling - ESP Optimization
The first step in managing SO3 in your unit is to understand the amount and nature of SO3/Sulfur condensables in your gas stream along the gas path beginning at the Economizer outlet through to the Stack.
Breen Energy Solutions offers a comprehensive SO3 Condensables Profiling test package that includes one or more AbSensor Condensables probes, field service technicians, remote monitoring services from our applications engineers and daily condensables reporting. These packages include duct traverse and parametric testing. A custom designed test package could be for a 1-week, 2-week, 4-week or may run for several months.
Breen Energy Solution offers a comprehensive SCR tuning package that goes beyond traditional tuning protocols. Like other vendors we use O2/NOx measurements to balance NOx concentrations at the SCR outlet grid. However, in addition to that, we also utilize the AbSensor Condensables devices to measure the SO3entering and exiting the SCR, and the presence and severity of Ammonium Bisulfate and therefore Ammonia Slip at the SCR Outlet/AH inlet as well as providing calculations for estimated AbS bulk and capillary dewpoints which determine the SCR Minimum Operating Temperature.
We also offer our services to conduct SCR Enhanced Mode operation and establish operating protocols and Mill Configuration, which will allow you to continue operating the SCR below the vendor MOT curves while ensuring that you can bake off the accumulated AbS after load pickup.
We provide our services to generate a thermodynamic AH model and provide estimated for AbS and SO3 deposition depths in the AH. Based on this model and calculated deposition depths, we can help establish protocols for Average Cold End Temperature controls that protect the AH from fouling and maximize unit heat rate.
Finally, we provide industry leading experts in ESP operation to analyze ESP data such as field resitivity, currents, voltages and Rapper programs to maximize ESP performance, minimize opacity and avoid Blue Plume.
